We welcomed 23 new Strategic Foresight students to our fall workshop, held at the beautiful Green Bay Botanical Garden – our biggest class yet. Collectively, they represent ten local organizations, some new to strategic foresight and others in training to enhance teams already established. Pictured in back on the far right is Garry Golden, certified futurist, who travels to Green Bay from New York City twice each year to train local organizations in the Greater Green Bay area.

Our first Network Cohort held its second meeting … and they know that ChatGPT will be on the agenda each meeting for quite some time. Participants recounted how they are using it so far, mainly to write contracts and publicity material. One member used ChatGPT to develop a service contract, needing only a few adjustments to make it workable; it saved them $4,000 in attorney costs. Another used it to develop the computer code for a new application, cutting coding time by 75%. And still another member of the cohort uses it daily, along with DALL-E (for images), as part of graphic marketing communications efforts. And yes, members are alert to bad information that might work its way in.

As they complete their Strategic Foresight training with Garry Golden, our graduates recognize the value of staying in touch and continuing to support each other. A number of workshop participants have asked us to create such opportunities to get together with like-minded former participants to discuss trends they are watching and techniques they are using to infuse Strategic Foresight thinking within their organizations. Our response has been to create small, committed Network Cohorts.
